I try to maintain a life of balance and and inclusion, but many of my friends do not understand how important my blogging has become in my life. And when attempting to explain some of the nuances of what I do, they just can't seem to grasp the concept.
They don't mind visiting a few blogs that target their areas of interest. And I've even walked a few of them through creating blogs of their own, only to have them fall from the ranks of the blogging initiated into that block hole of "I'll get to it when I have more time." Yet, they can spend hours a day keeping up with television programming which does little to stimulate the creative process.
Are bloggers really that different? Are we a part of some new techno-social culture with a different brain structure or psycho-environmental make up?
I'd rather believe that I'm a part of a new-age community of artists who find that our palette for creativity is the pages on which we post our passions, obsessions, or confessions. Or, maybe we're just a community who've grown to enjoy the online company of other bloggers. Our world is not that of a secret society, and to any who choose to enter, the door is always open.

Hello..I totally hear you there. I have been raising my website and I use that term because I have invested a lot of time getting it to where it is now.
As for blogging ..I have been an active blogger for 6 years but it was not until this past year that I have become a more serious type blogger.
Everyone has their vices I guess and deem different things as priorities and that is what makes us all so Unique and different.
I have always enjoyed your thoughts and look forward to more.
Happy blogging!

I agree 100%. I pretty much gave up TV for blogging. It just sort of happened I didn't try to quit TV but my relationships with the people I meet online are very important since I really don't see my friends in real life all that often. It's a great way to stay in touch and feel like part of a community. And I love the part about it being non exclusive which is so true. Anyone can join and they will be welcomed warmly.
Oh.. How right on you are.. I could not agree with you more. I never was much of a tv watcher to begin with, but now I am hardly one at all. Reading blogs and writing a blog has given me inspiration and a sense of community with other bloggers from around the world.. I could not imagine giving it up. =D
I'm with you and Jen--TV has really fallen by the wayside. I enjoy the variety, the laughs, and the fun while TV isn't doing it for me. It's hard to tell others you blog though, they always look at me kinda weird and change the subject.
This is about passion. Some have the talents but do not have the passion and you cannot dictate them nor force them to do what they need to do because pursuing and engaging in your talents is a prerogative. Blogging for a lot of people are not their "life" so the question of whether prioritizing certain activities is not a matter of a question at all.
I blog because I want to. I watch TV whenever I want to and I don't mind if I could not blog. Blogging is not a life or an occupation for me itself. My life is about "enjoying what life has given me, " and "keeping a perfect balance of what I want to do and what I need to do."
what you said is true. before blogging, i thought i don't have the time for anything else but when i got hooked up with blogging, you will see me in the computer almost all the time updating my blog, visiting other blogs and dropping entrecard. i love it.
You are so right! Blogging is great. I am coming up to my first blogoversary on the 4th and I can't believe it will be a year already. Happy blogging to you! :-)
Thanks everyone for your valuable input.
Dorothy,
I agree that everyone has vices, and blogging has become mine.
Jen,
Yes, this is a non-exclusive club. The only exclusivity is that we all enjoy the blogging community.
Kristen,
I can't imagine giving it up either. Especially not to return to reality television.
Lin,
I get the same response when I try to explain my passion for blogging to others.
Bingkee,
I also blog because I want to, but I also enjoy it tremendously. I found that television was absorbing ny creativity, not contributing to it. It is about finding balance though.
Shimumsy,
I am also still a novice at blogging, but it has quickly gained an important place in my life's activities.
Dori,
It's been about six months for me, and I agree that time has flown by.
Great Post about bloggers. Very good analysis...

hi there. just dropping by. tgif. hope you have a wonderful weekend.
I am into blogging because I love the thought of learning new ideas and getting the chance of building new friendship. I like sharing my own thoughts too, at least to help other people.
best regards,
marly
I started just to get exposure for some of my art.Inevitably I got sucked in just like most of us out here.In a way I think it is a product of how impersonal the real world has become. We become close and open with each other,I think this results from our anonymity on the web. Some times it is easier to be open with a stranger than with a friend sad but sometimes all to true. The truth is that you are right, all and any are welcome.Good luck with all of your projects every one and take care.:)
i can say nothing but 'amen' to your post over here .. i have felt and have been where you are right now ..
I see the same things in friends as they wonder why I do this it's hard to explain to those who do not blog so I listen and then away I go...by my self in my world enjoying the sharing and caring of the other bloggers..

I just like to write.
Great article with very relevant stuff. Cheers for sharing.
I've said this before in one of my blogs: when the world finally learn to pay us some attention, blogging is what taught them to. that's what you should say to people on the other side of the door.
Great post...glad to stumble upon your blog through EC!
Cheers...xxx
Great perspective. My first time here ... looking forward to reading more.
